LANSING, MICHIGAN, Sept. 15, 2022 – Today, Michigan Trucking Association, the state’s leading truck trade association, announces the appointment of Jill Sokacz (Skutar) as President and Chief Executive Officer.


“We are excited Jill is now at the helm of MTA. Her dedication and expertise will lead MTA and its members in new directions to meet the ever-changing demands of the Michigan trucking industry,” says MTA Chairman Brian Hitchcock.


Sokacz will primarily network with government and other industry partners to promote the goals of the organization and work with MTA’s Board of Governors to raise the Association's visibility while overseeing daily operations.


Sokacz brings more than 25 years’ experience in the trucking industry to the role, most through her various leadership positions at MTA. Her prior roles include MTA Interim President and CEO, MTA Director of Operations and Project Director for the Michigan Center for Truck Safety. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Michigan State University in East Lansing, MI. Sokacz earned the Certified Association Executive (CAE) credential from the American Society of Association Executives as well as the Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) credential from the Events Industry Council.
