January 6, 2021
Dear Club Presidents,
Firstly, I thank you for electing me your 2021 Skal USA President. I promise I will do my best with the help of an amazing team to make Skal USA stronger and more relevant than ever before.
But it’s not about us! It’s about you. We work for you! We need you to tell us what you need to retain and build your membership. To show your members how relevant Skal is during these most trying times. To keep you aware of updates, changes and benefits. We can do this as we did last year through continuous communication.
Our membership team under the capable hands of VP Membership, Tom Moulton, and the two Directors of Membership, Morgan Maravich and Mark Irgang, will be reaching out to you during the year and sharing your feedback with our EC.
Our PR team under new EC member Pam Davis, of Skal Hawaii, will broadcast and share our stories through webinars, eNewsletters, social media and press releases. Please let us know what your members are doing. Share your joys and accomplishments.
Our VP Finance, Art Allis, is working to keep us fiscally sound as well as helping those dedicated Active members who are financially in need.
Our VP Administration, Richard Scinta, will be working behind the scenes to ensure that our membership and legal documents are up to date and our team runs like a well-oiled machine.
Our ISC Holly Powers is our window to Skal International. She continues to be our shining star on the International Skal Committee and regularly reports on Skal International matters.
I would be remiss if I didn’t recognize our immediate past President, Dave Ryan, who did a magnificent job in 2020. Dave’s face and voice were seen and heard on almost every Zoom meeting last year sharing words of encouragement and help. A job well done.
And special thanks to our more than capable admins at ABA, Eric Braendel and Brandon Buchanan.
Finally, If you haven’t already done so I ask that you take a few minutes to complete the 2021 Club Data Form on our skalusa.org page.
Remember! Skal is all of us. A Skal family! We are local, national and global. While we may not be able to visit our Skal family in person we can always visit virtually until this pandemic is finally over. Reach out to another club and grow your network and your friendships. It will pay dividends both professionally and personally.
Best regards and Skal,
Jim Dwyer
President, Skal USA
