Varsity Tennis Center
Jim Holman was a big presence in Ann Arbor tennis for fifty years. Jim died last year of metastatic melanoma. To celebrate Jim’s life and love of tennis, a group of his friends at University of Michigan Varsity Tennis Center are holding a tennis mixer to raise funds for melanoma research at the University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center on Saturday, May 20, 2017, at the Varsity Tennis Center. We have reserved the indoor courts from 10:00am to 6:00pm so the event will be held rain or shine.

Several pros at the VTC are donating their time to run drills and contests, with emphasis on fun. This is a fundraiser, with suggested donations, but pay what you can afford. No one should decide that they can’t afford to come, just come and play!

Here is the schedule:

Additionally, from 3:00-5:00pm, there will be an injury prevention and rehab clinic on court with teaching pro Daryl Fisher and physical therapist Joseph Taylor. There is no additional charge for this clinic, just make the suggested donation with your registration.

100% of donations will go directly to fund melanoma research at the University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center. If you cannot attend, but would like to donate, go to http://victors.us/jimholmanfundraiser.

You can register online on Facebook or through Eventbrite, and make your donation on http://victors.us/jimholmanfundraiser, or send a check made out to U of M Comprehensive Cancer Center Jim Holman, to the Varsity Tennis Center, attn: Becky Augustine/Holman, 2250 S State St, Ann Arbor, MI 48104. You can also go to the Varsity Tennis Center and register at the desk with cash or check, but not credit card. To register by mail, fill out the form below, duplicate it if necessary, and send to the VTC with your check made out to the UM Cancer Center.

There is a volunteer signup sheet at the desk in the VTC, we need to know your contact information, time available, if you can teach on court, or not, and if you would like to set up, clean up, help with refreshments, or just assist with off-court organizing. If you can't make it to the VTC, you can email Lincoln Lee with your information.

Please note, this is not child care. A responsible adult must be present to sign minor children in and sign an injury waiver.
