Welcome to Da Coach's Corner for October 2024!

The purpose is to inform, inspire and have a little fun along the way.

If you'd like to set a time to talk about what coaching can do for you, click here.

And if you know someone who might enjoy reading this, feel free to pass it along.

Welcome to the Fourth Quarter If you feel like you need a boost to finish the year strong then it's time for you and I to reconnect for coaching. A number of former clients have signed on with me and are getting great results -- why not you?

My Ride to Fight Cancer In September I bicycled over 100 miles to raise funds to fight kids' cancer in The Great Cycle Challenge. I dedicated my ride to "older kids" I know who are struggling with various forms of cancer. Let's ride it out of existence! 🚴

You can still donate here: https://greatcyclechallenge.com/Donate/Rider/1295476

Enough is Enough! How many more mass shootings like the one at a school in Georgia will it take for our leaders in Congress to enact common sense gun control. It starts at the ballot box -- vote out anyone with a "90%+" rating from the NRA.

Speaking of Which, Are You Registered to Vote? In ONE month we will be holding the most consequential election ever, so make sure you are registered to vote. 🇺🇸

Chicago Sports The underachieving Cubs are done. ⚾️ Da Bearz are stuck at .500 with a good D and weak offense. 🏈 The only story of interest: The 2024 Chicago White Sox have the infamous distinction of being the all-time losingest team in the modern MLB era. (Maybe I'm losing my edge but I actually feel sorry for them. 😥)

War, Continued Israel 🇮🇱 and Ukraine 🇺🇦 continue their battles to establish peace in their countries. Global democracy is at stake here -- it matters to all of us. For humanitarian aid you can donate to the neutral International Red Cross here. ❤️

Book Recommendations I read 50+ non-fiction books a year -- it's where I find ideas to help my clients grow their business. Below are the ones I read this past month.

The Arsenal of Democracy FDR, Detroit, and an Epic Quest to Arm an America at War A real page turner about how the United States, during the Great Depression, was totally unprepared for a second world war. And how quickly that turned around thanks to the monumental effort of Detroit auto plants to crank out B-24 bombers.

Billionaire, Nerd, Savior, King: Bill Gates and His Quest to Shape Our World The good, the bad and the debatable about how billionaires like Bill Gates impact us.

Pattern Breakers: Why Some Start-Ups Change the World Find out how certain start up leaders don't compete with established companies -- they offer a new choice.

How to Become Famous: Lost Einsteins, Forgotten Superstars, and How the Beatles Came to Be I am a legend in my own mind, but if I want to become famous I would do well to read about how much effort and serendipity are involved.

The Art of Clear Thinking: A Stealth Fighter Pilot's Timeless Rules for Making Tough Decisions. You don't have to fly an F-35 to make better split-second decisions.

The Ancient Art of Thinking For Yourself The Power of Rhetoric in Polarized Times Today many people to put forth "alternative truths" to persuade. The ancient Greeks knew how to disprove them: Ask penetrating questions to determine their soundness.

Financial Advisors I coach Financial Advisors around the country to help them grow their clientele. I always want to meet FA's, branch managers and/or fund wholesalers anywhere in the US. Your introductions are greatly appreciated.

Audio Recommendation Want great ideas from Earl Nightingale, Brian Tracy, Tony Robbins and other personal development superstars? You can always go to Nightingale.com for hundreds of hours of motivational/inspirational/educational audios to help you stay on track with success.

Contribution  There are lots of ways you can "Pay It Forward" for good karma. If you want to contribute to a military veteran's transition to a civilian job like I do, sign on as an advisor with ACP AdvisorNet.org. Also, the American Red Cross will always welcome you to donate blood.

Healing Thoughts If you would be so kind, please take a moment to send healing energy as I do daily to individuals you know who have serious health challenges or are dealing with difficult circumstances. Every positive thought helps, thanks.
