American Landscape Tour Social
Hosted by Hamilton House, Providence RI
I would like to welcome you aboard our “Fall for Vermont’s Main Streets and Backroads” tour. Shortly you will be receiving a very detailed itinerary for the entire trip. There will be two meals where you will be required to make menu selections.

Also, several people have contacted me regarding our Tour Social this Thursday in Providence. The question was if we are already signed up for tour should or can we go to Social. The answer is yes and yes. If you are already signed up for tour the presentation will provide much more information about this tour than the handout. There will be a screening of the academy award nominated documentary short that is the same one shown at Marsh Billings National Park. It is an exceptional film that explains why this area is so special.

Also, you will be amongst the first to learn of upcoming tours for remainder of 2019 and a look to 2020. Our hosts Hamilton House have been very gracious to open their doors for this event. They have prepared some goodies. There will be wine tasting as well by Scout and Cellar. For those interested there will be tours available of their historic French Chateau style mansion as well as opportunity to learn about all that Hamilton House has to offer. There are just a few spaces available. If you would like to attend and you can bring a friend, simply give me a call to reserve your spot.

Hope to see you on Thursday.

This is a free event by invitation only . Hamilton House is a member-based adult learning and cultural exchange located in a magnificent National Historic Register French Chateau style mansion built in 1896.

The evening will consist of a presentation by American Landscape Tours highlighting our September overnight tour “Fall for Vermont's Main Streets and Backroads”, as well as a sneak preview of upcoming tours. Followed by the screening of the Academy award nominated documentary A Place in The Land . There will be prizes, surprises and light refreshments.  The movie A Place in the Land ( 32 Min) tells the story of George Marsh, Frederick Billings and Laurence Rockefeller, three seminal figures in the history of the conservation movement in America. Though born generations apart and living very different lives they were connected by a common place. They all occupied the same home and land in Woodstock VT. Today their legacy lives on in Billings Farm and Museum and the Marsh- Billings-Rockefeller National Park in Woodstock. Our tour will visit both, as well as the Rockefeller Mansion.

Directed by Charles Guggenheim - who has been nominated for 12 Academy Awards, won 4, and is considered the most accomplished maker of documentary films in this country.

Narrated by Actor / Director Peter Coyote - Some of his films include E.T., Erin Brockovich, Hemingway, Patch Adams as well as has narrated many documentaries including seven of Ken Burns PBS specials.
