We are excited to have James Dunham aka Jim the Kiln Guy back again in October! He will be teaching 4 classes the weekend of October 17 & 18th. Jim has extensive fusing experience and puts on a great series of classes for us. If you ever wanted to know what goes on during the kiln firing, what it takes to own a kiln, how dichroic glass works and is made, or how gravity is used in glass these are for you! He only does this for us about once a year and these classes are at an amazingly low rate so don't miss out.

Introduction to Fusing Glass $125

Curious about Fusing? Jim will introduce you to the world of fused glass, how a kiln works, and just what happens during each step of the fusing process. This will cover more of the technical side of fusing. The class is 2-1/2 hours long and all supplies are included. You will get to assemble 3 small projects that will be fired and picked up in a few days. See a whole new side of glass work.

Kiln Ownership Lecture / Q&A $45

This class is great for those who own a kiln or are thinking about it. Learn all about the kilns and what ownership entails. Jim will discuss all this and more then answer all your questions & concerns.

Dichroic Disco $75

It’s all about the BLING BABY! Learn the do’s and don’ts of working with Dichroic glass. Make a small jewelry piece, try the acid etch process, and see how Angel Tears are made. Drilling holes in glass will be demonstrated. Price includes all supplies for the in class projects. Additional Dichroic Glass will be available for purchase.

Glass & Gravity $75

Learn about the different ways to manipulate fused glass pieces using molds and other materials. AND you will get to see how a Vitrigraph Kiln works and pull some glass. You will make a casted piece and have the opportunity to slump your piece from the intro class.

No Experience required for these classes.

Must wear Closed toe shoes. Eye protection required for all classes except lecture, safety glasses are available. Glass & Gravity class, please wear long pants (pref jeans or non-polyester) Long hair must be tied up.

We DO NOT ACCEPT signups via email or website. Please DO NOT leave a PHONE message to sign up, we don't always have time to check messages until later in the day and you could miss out! You must call OR come in during store hours and pay the tuition to hold your spot.

If you show up to class with out the proper shoes you will not be able to participate and will forfeit your tuition fees.

Class Policies - 

FINE PRINT -

Terms apply to all classes held at Allen Kenoyer Stained Glass. Please read and comply. Your enrollment in a class will be your acknowledgement and acceptance of this policy.

1. Your class will start on time. Please be on time and ready to start.

2. Please put your phone on silent so that it won't disrupt the class.

3. Payment is required when you register for a class. When you register, we reserve that space and purchase supplies for you. If you need to cancel, we need at least 7 days advance notice. With 7 days notice, you will receive store credit for your tuition. Otherwise, you will forfeit the tuition. Special Classes or classes with guest artists are never refundable in any manner. We are making exceptions for illness due to the pandemic - but you still must call and let us know.

4. In the event of class cancellation, you will receive a full refund.

5. Participants give permission for Allen Kenoyer Stained Glass to take and use photographs for use in which may include their image or artwork for the purpose of advertising or education. You will not be compensated for this use.

6. Please bring Safety Glasses (Available for purchase) and Wear Closed Toe Shoes.

7. Everyone who is present for a class must be enrolled in that class.

8. Please bring the proper equipment to every class.

9. If the class is "plus glass or supplies", all items are available for purchase at Allen Kenoyer Stained Glass and your business and support is greatly appreciated!

Substance-Free Policy: For the safety and enjoyment of all participants, attendees may not be under the influence of drugs or alcohol while taking a class at our studio. Anyone who appears to be impaired will be asked to leave, and no refunds or rescheduling will be provided.
