" At the end of your life, you will never regret not having passed one more test, not winning one more verdict or not closing one more deal. You will regret time not spent with a husband, a friend, a child or a parent. " - Barbara Bush
What is one gift so precious it cannot be replaced – no matter what you do? What is one gift that once you give it, you cannot return it under any set of circumstances? Some of us want more of this gift for personal pursuits. Some want it for family endeavors. When we promise this gift and do not or cannot deliver, there is often some form of disappointment. I am talking about the gift of time .

During the holidays, it seems that time is at a premium. We have family obligations, work obligations, and holiday obligations. The work-life conundrum is legitimately tough to navigate during the year and especially during the holidays. I believe the greatest gift you can give someone is your time.

When you give your time, you are giving a portion of your life that you will never get back. While you scurry about gathering gifts to give, remember – the reason that you are running around is because of the people that are close to you. During this holiday season, when you give that tangible gift, please also take a moment to give some of your time to those very special people in your life. You will not get the time back, but you also will not regret it. Happy Holidays.
Best Regards,

Adam Edgecombe Sharpens His Pencil To Grade This Year's FL Bar Exam Essays
When an individual wants to practice law in the State of Florida, they must first be licensed as an attorney, which means passing an extremely rigorous test known as The Florida Bar Exam. The exam consists of endless multiple choice questions, as well as a written portion, all of which test the candidate's knowledge in Florida Law. These tests are reviewed and graded by attorneys who are currently licensed by The Florida Bar and this is the fourth time that Adam has been drafted to assist in the process.

In February he will be one of 20-30 Florida lawyers grading 300+ exams each, and his focus will be on the written exam portion of candidate responses. He was originally selected to draft an essay based on his years of service as a bar exam essay grader, a position to which he was appointed as a result of his own outstanding score on the Florida Bar Exam nearly 10 years ago. So to all the prospective attorneys out there whose answers will be stringently graded by one of the best of J&C, in the wise words of Yoda, we say: "Do or Do Not, there is no Try."

Lighting Up The Night For John Stockton Elementary School STEM Learning

We all know that technology is constantly changing. Paper's out, mobile devices are in. That's why Jimerson & Cobb attorneys use cutting edge technology every day to deliver outstanding, responsive customer service to each client, regardless of where we are physically located.

We believe that students at John Stockton Elementary School in Jacksonville also needed the right tools to achieve their highest learning potential in Science, Technology Engineering and Math (STEM) educational pursuits. So we got involved. This year, J&C was honored to serve as the Title Sponsor for the Friends Of Stockton Luminaria. All moneys that were raised through our efforts and those of the community helped to fund All-In-One technology carts and other STEM resources for students. Over 1000 luminaria kits were sold and distributed, then placed outside on December 23rd in Riverside, Avondale, Ortega and Ortega Forest neighborhoods.
Honoring Our Elders During This Season Of Giving

On December 10, some of Santa's elves were spotted at the Jacksonville Bar Association. Jimerson & Cobb had been provided with a list of items specifically requested by senior citizens who participate in the Meals on Wheels program in Duval County. The spirit of Christmas was truly alive, as Jimerson & Cobb attorneys and staff rose to meet the challenge, purchasing and wrapping numerous gifts for the well-deserving recipients. J&C events committee members delivered the gifts to the JBA and were greeted with humbling appreciation. Click here to watch the video , or to learn more about Meals on Wheels, visit their website .
