ABOUT JIMMY EAT WORLD:

Jimmy Eat World — one of the most successful and enduring alternative-rock bands of their generation — celebrate a landmark moment in 2026: the 25th anniversary of their seminal album Bleed American. The record not only launched the Mesa, Arizona, quartet into global recognition but helped define the sound of 2000's alternative rock and the wave of emotionally driven, melodic guitar music that followed.

Originally released July 24, 2001, via DreamWorks Records, Bleed American showcased the band at a creative peak. The record produced a run of enduring hits: the explosive title track “Bleed American,” the “sing it back” stadium-bright “Sweetness,” the celebratory fan favorite “A Praise Chorus,” and the crossover smash “The Middle.” That last one hit No. 1 on Billboard’s Alternative Airplay chart, reached No. 5 on the Hot 100 during a 33-week run, earned RIAA platinum status, and in 2024 joined Spotify’s Billions Club — which may have received a slight bump after Taylor Swift lip-synced the song in a commercial for Apple Music. In 2025, “The Middle” was named one of Rolling Stone’s 250 Greatest Songs of the 21st Century So Far.

Bleed American’s 25th anniversary was made extra special when the RIAA bestowed the album with double-platinum certification on July 24, 2026. The album's legacy can be felt in a new generation of artists—from pop-rock and mainstream alternative acts to the 2010s emo-revival scene. Bands such as Paramore, The Wonder Years, The Maine, Hot Mulligan, and countless others have cited Jimmy Eat World’s melodic clarity, emotional honesty, and guitar-driven precision as foundational to their own work. Its reach also extends to major pop and indie artists who have referenced the album’s songwriting approach and sonic balance as a blueprint for mixing intimacy with widescreen hooks.

Beyond the studio, Jimmy Eat World has become mainstays at major festivals around the world, including When We Were Young, Lollapalooza, Coachella, Reading, Leeds, Southside, and Hurricane, and have appeared on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and Saturday Night Live. Their contributions to Arizona’s music legacy were recognized in 2024 as October 17 was declared Jimmy Eat World Day in Phoenix, AZ.

The band’s most recent release, the six-song Something(s) Loud EP (2025), continued their run of heartfelt, meticulously crafted songwriting — further proof that even as they celebrate Bleed American’s 25-year legacy, Jimmy Eat World are still evolving, still resonating, and still very much in the present.

ABOUT THE FORMAT

During the 20 years that The Format spent apart, Nate Ruess launched a solo career, formed the chart-topping fun., and collaborated with P!nk, Young Thug, and Hayley Williams, while Sam Means also continued to perform and built the highly successful Hello Merch in their Phoenix hometown. Reuniting in 2024 to make an album that revives the alt-rock, grunge, and punk sounds they first bonded over as Arizona teenagers, the duo’s decision to release their third album, Boycott Heaven, independently through The Vanity Label continues the trailblazing path they began over twenty years ago. After parting ways with a major label in 2005, The Format self-released Dog Problems and developed a fiercely devoted cult following. With the self-release of their Boycott Heaven, Ruess and Means are building on that legacy and proving that same DIY spirit that fueled their early years. http://www.theformat.com/

The Format embarked on a mini-tour in the Fall of 2025 for very special sold-out full-band performances, including a hometown show in Phoenix, AZ at the historic Veterans Memorial Coliseum at the Arizona State Fair. More than just a concert, the Phoenix stop was a festival-style event with an outdoor side stage curated by The Format. AZcentral praised, “The Format's long-awaited return was everything Arizona had been waiting for and even more…From the very first line of “Tie the Rope,” it was obvious that both the crowd and band were ready to erupt after the 18-year wait. Ruess’s signature timbre sounded as if he hadn’t missed a day...”
