Hello Upper School Families -

It has been a very busy week with students reviewing in their classes and planning out their studying. This coming week, the Upper School focus turns squarely to final exams. All information on final exams is below. We will end our semester with our annual Wassail celebration next week, one of my very favorite Roycemore traditions. It is so heartwarming to see all of our students come together to celebrate their hard work and begin their well-earned vacation!

A reminder about the schedule for the coming weeks:

Monday, Dec. 16  - Regular school day
Tuesday - Friday, Dec. 17-20  - Final exams, see details below.
Friday Dec. 20  - Wassail at 2:00 pm. Attendance is required at this yearly all school event.
Dec. 23 - Jan. 3  - No School (Winter Break)
Monday Jan. 6  - First day of January Short Term. See Mr. Horine or your project director with any scheduling questions ASAP.

One very important reminder about scheduling that has been mentioned in this newsletter: except in the case of illness verified by a doctor, students will not be given the option to take a final exam either early or late due to absence, and a student who does not take the final as scheduled may receive a zero for that exam. We appreciate your help in making sure students are here and ready for finals.

During finals week, Upper School students’ only obligation is to be here for finals. If a student does not have a final, they are free to leave campus. The one exception is Friday the 20th. That day has a 3:15 dismissal and concludes with Wassail, our annual all-school holiday assembly. This is a required event for all Upper School students. Any student missing this event must be called in absent just as for any other regularly scheduled and required school event.

Good luck in these final weeks of 2019!
