September 2022 Security Awareness Training

Imagine you receive a call from your credit card company stating that you have several fraudulent transactions on your recent card activity, but they ask for your name, SSN, and full credit card number. This should be an immediate red flag and no information should be given over the phone as they should already have all this information. This is known as Vishing which is a type of voice phishing and Social Engineering tactic to get individuals to divulge sensitive information over the phone. The attacker benefits from this type of attempt to get the individuals personal data and use it for their own benefit.

Sept. 1 launched the new awareness module: Vishing. It's six minutes long, so no excuse to miss it. This monthly course is due by Sept. 30.

Kansas City Corporate Challenge Interest Survey

Last week you received an email from Assistant County Manager Joe Connor inviting you to take a survey so we can measure the workforce’s interest in participating in the Kansas City Corporate Challenge next year. As a reminder, this program is designed to:

  • Improve employee morale,
  • Allow employees to work together as a team outside of the workplace,
  • Build friendships and stronger work relationships,
  • Allow employees to network with employees from other Kansas City area businesses; and
  • Give participants a reason to be active and mindful of their overall well-being.

The 2023 campaign runs from April to June. There are opportunities to participate, volunteer and cheer on colleagues. Participation demands extensive organizational commitment and interest. Please take just a few minutes to help us measure the interest in our organization to participate.

Link to survey (you may be asked to login to the network before you can view it.)

Your feedback is valuable! Please participate in this brief survey by September 8, 2022.
