Finalists Announced in US Dept. of Ed. High School Competition (CTE Mission: CubeSat)
Dec. 2, 2020 -- The US Dept. of Education announced the five finalists in CTE Mission: Cube-Sat, a national challenge to build technical skills for careers in space and beyond. This competition to design and build CubeSat prototypes was envisioned to provide an accessible way for students to learn vital skills for careers, experiment with new academic concepts, and explore the satellite development and launch process.
The five winning high school teams will each receive $5,000 and in-kind prizes, and advance to the second phase of the challenge to build and launch CubeSat prototypes.
The finalists are:
  • Anderson Clark Magnet High School
  • (La Crescenta, CA)
  • Freeport High School (Freeport, NY)
  • Mooresville High School (Mooresville, NC)
  • Opelika High School (Opelika, AL), collaborating with Columbus High
  • School and Northside High School
  • (Columbus, GA)
  • Princeton High School (Princeton, NJ), collaborating with Montgomery High School (Skillman, NJ)

JoSS WELCOMES SUBMISSIONS FOR PEER- REVIEWED PUBLICATION
As a unique scholarly technical journal dedicated to serving the Small Satellite Systems and Services Community, JoSS aims to publish online original high-quality, topical, peer-reviewed articles, legacy articles about contributions made by small satellites pioneers, and letters to the editor (LTEs). The publication of, and access to, these articles is offered FREE OF CHARGE to encourage students and entrepreneurs to expedite publication of and access to their work. 

To this end, we gladly accept original, creative, previously unpublished articles that address one or more of the JoSS technical Topic Areas. You may visit www.jossonline.com under "Information for Authors" for the list of Topic Areas and guidelines for preparing and submitting your papers for publication.
