On Tuesday, August 6, Smolak Farms will be offering a job fair for Seasonal Employment opportunities. Please come to the Farmstand with your resume and any letters of recommendation that you may have. Also, please indicate your job preference with your number one choice first followed by your second and third choices.

We are searching for friendly, self-motivated, enthusiastic, professional and dependable team members with the ability to deliver outstanding customer service with a smile during our busy Fall Season.

For weekend positions, applicants must be available and able to commit to working on weekends, (both Saturday and Sunday) for the month of September and October and thrive in a fast paced environment.

JOB LISTINGS:

BAKERY & FARMSTAND:

Farm Stand Shift Supervisors/Team Leaders: Organize, motivate and lead Farm Stand team members to provide an exceptional customer experience at Smolak Farms. Responsible for financial management of register at end of shift. (Weekdays and weekend positions). Opening Shift: 6am – noon. Closing Shift: 12 noon – 7pm. Team Leader positions available immediately and position lasts the remainder of the season, until the end of December.

Farm Stand Bakery Counter Server: Providing outstanding customer service while serving donuts, beverages and baked goods to our farm stand and bakery customers. (Weekdays and Weekends)

Cashier: Professionally ringing up customer purchases on our State of the Art Point of Sales System, both indoors and outdoors. (Weekdays and Weekends)

Greeter: Welcome customers to Smolak Farms and answer questions about all Fall Festival events and activities. (Weekends only)

Closing Support Team: Responsible for cleaning, organizing and restocking after a busy day in the Farm Stand. (Weekdays and Weekends)

Dish Washer: Responsible for washing dishes and keeping the Bakery area spotless. (Weekdays & Weekends)

Pick your Own Fruit Associate: Assist customers who visit our farm to pick their own fruit and berries. (Weekday hours available Monday – Friday: 8:30 – 5pm for Red Shed. Weekend Hours for PYO Apples and Red Shed).

Bakery Support: Efficiently packaging and restocking our famous Apple Cider Donuts in preparation for the weekend rush. (overnight and morning shifts available)

Retail Support: Insuring our indoor and retail areas are well organized and fully stocked at all times during the busy fall weekends. (weekends only)

Food Court Grill Cook: Efficiently Grilling hamburgs, hotdogs and other hot foods in our Outdoor Food Court during busy Fall Weekend Festivals. (weekends only)

Food Court Assistant: Insuring that all Outdoor Food Court drinks, snacks, grilled food, and condiments are attractively displayed and well stocked at all times. (weekends only)

Food Court Grill Cashier: Ringing up customer purchases at our Outdoor Food Court during busy Fall Weekend Festivals. (weekends only)

EDUCATION/TOUR AND ACTIVITY DEPARTMENT

Candidates will be subject to a CORI check

Tour Guide: Responsible to lead groups of children and adults on guided hayrides through the farm, discuss farm history and farming facts if needed, amuse groups of small children with songs or games, set up the barn for the snack, serve food and drink, facilitate fruit picking for the groups, and clean up after tours. Candidate will be a warm, friendly, outgoing and upbeat person who enjoys being with people and especially enjoys working with children. Hours are weekday mornings to early afternoons throughout the busy fall season.

Party Host/Hostess: Responsible to lead private parties, setup each event, facilitate high-energy parties, play games, conduct activities and crafts with party participants, make sure the party runs on schedule, supervise party participants, serve food and drinks, monitor guests experience and satisfaction and clean up after the party. Candidates will be an experienced, happy, playful, positive, sales oriented team player who enjoys teaching and educating children as well as multi-tasking. Candidates will have the ability to engage children through physical, cognitive and social interactions.

Tractor Driver: Responsible for driving the tractors which pull hay wagons for group tours and rides around the farm. Drivers must prepare the tractor and hay wagon for the rides, greet the customers in a friendly manner, help people up and down the stairs of the hay wagon, present rules of the tractor, drive slowly and safely through the farm on pre-determined routes, and follow proper closing/shut down procedures. Candidate will have experience driving tractors and large machinery, enjoy working with people and especially children, possess an outgoing and friendly personality, and represent the farm in a professional and positive manner.

Activity and Festival Position: Festival staff is responsible for facilitation of weekend festivals at the farm. This will include set up and break down of materials on each festival day. Candidates will be required to perform many duties while employed as festival staff, including leading craft demonstrations, facilitating games, selling tickets and supervising children's play area. Candidates must be excellent with children, have high energy and exceptional customer service skills. Candidates must also poses skills to remain calm under pressure. Employees are responsible for farm guests over all impression of their visit and we want everyone to leave a happy customer!

Information Booth Attendant: This person must possess a warm, friendly and professional demeanor. Well-spoken and confident qualities are a must. Attendant will be responsible for relating information on weekend picking and activity schedules to customers in a concise and friendly manner. Our information booth attendant will serve as the face of Smolak Farms. Attendant will be seated in prominent and visible location and must remain calm under pressure.

Parking Attendants: For busy fall weekends. Must be able to keep cars parking in provided spaces and follow instructions. Personality plus and stamina to burn for this job!

ANIMAL AREA

Animal Caretakers: We have a small group of animals from birds to cows that need to be fed, watered, cleaned and general care. Experience with animal care is necessary for this position. Weekday mornings and weekend positions available.
