We want to inform and connect with the entire Job Path community
so we are all on this path together.
| | Keeping stock of employment success | | Two Job Path participants are thriving at their new jobs at two different locations for the paint, window treatment and hardware chain, Janovic Paint and Decorating Center. Leo E. and Zeiad E. both excel in maintenance and stocking tasks and have quickly become valued members of their teams. | | |
Janovic President and CEO Rich Gaudino says that in hiring, "success is related to aligning the right individual with the proper location and responsibilities."
"A great example of this is Leo," Gaudino says. "He brings an engagement and energy that we often lack. While he does not have complex high level company responsibilities, he takes his job seriously and is so dedicated in his role, which has a positive influence on the team around him. Leo brings a contagious smile and makes our workplace better for everyone around him."
“I like to help people out who need it," Leo says. "I like to help people so they don’t feel alone. I love to give people a friendly vibe."

Zeiad, seen here in a photo by his Job Coach, Sean McAuliffe says he loves his job and has adopted a co-workers’ catchphrase about working smarter, not harder. (“Take it eeeeeazzzy!”)
“People like me here,” he says. His supervisor, Manager Cyrus Gewecke had high praise.
“He helps clean everything up and keep things organized. He does a lot of things that wouldn’t get done without him, which is a huge help.”

Favorite thing about Job Path: Our creativity. Job Path is full of creative spirits. Everyone from the individuals to the staff we hire share that trait, and it’s nice seeing people express it during support, in meetings, and many different ways.
Memorable moment at JP: I have had many. During my care manager days, I remember helping someone who had just lost their father and also needed to kick someone out of their home around the same time. A lot of feelings were involved. The individual was grieving but also dealing with the anxiety of living solo for the first time. I realized the power of community then; the JP community supported this individual. I felt proud helping this person with the court system and am proud to say that this person is now thriving on his own because of the support that we gave him during that time.

Something you are reading, watching or listening to right now: I just caught up with all the Bridgertons (again) so I can get ready for the new season. I am deep in my podcast era, so I’m listening to a lot about budgeting and finances to help set myself up for the new year.
Hobby, skill or knowledge that helped you while working at JP: I do many playful activities. I dance, sing, draw, run, yoga, pilates, sculpt,.etc. The playful activities I engage in help me be more present in my "serious" work. They also allow me to shift my perspective when things feel routine.
| | JP Improv Group in the house | | |
Participants from Job Path’s Improv and Theater groups recently went to see Improv Group Leader Anson Chan perform in a production of “The Opening,” a comedic musical inspired by a chess cheating scandal at the Off-Broadway Players Theatre.
“They really had a lot of fun and I had fun because while I was performing I could hear and recognize their voices and laughter - which was great,” says Chan, seen here on the far right.

The Improv group is currently working on sketch comedy, and Anson said they were also able to meet the show’s writers and directors to see how a production comes together.
“It’s great to see live theater, especially comedy that’s not super watered down, and it was awesome for them to see how jokes are written into the music and the choreography,” he says.
