Participants in Job Path's Community Connections ImprovGroup are hard at work rehearsing a new project - a sketch comedy show that will have a performance coming this Fall.
"The Zakaa Rollers Sketch Show is a statement to the world amplifying marginalized voices, uplifting the disabled, destigmatizing developmental disabilities and intended to foster a deeper understanding within the community through the shared language of comedy." -The cast, led by facilitator Anson Chan, seen here giving notes during a recent rehearsal.

What’s a hobby, skill, or special knowledge that helps you in your work here?
Most of my work experience prior to becoming a nurse was in hospitality management and administrative roles. This background has made it easy for me to remain hospitable, manage my time effectively, and work well under pressure—all of which are essential transferable skills in my current role as a nurse. I look forward on using these skills and gaining new ones while growing as a nurse here at Job Path!

Earlier this month, we held New Hire Orientation, and it’s always one of my favorite things.
I love the chance to introduce people to how we support New Yorkers with autism and other developmental disabilities on the job, at home, and in their communities.
It’s always inspiring to see our new team's enthusiasm and curiosity and to hear the personal stories that brought them to this important work.
So it was a happy coincidence that this New Staff Orientation came the very same month that I marked a professional milestone of my own. It was 19 years ago that I went through New Staff Orientation when I came to Job Path as a Senior Medicaid Service Coordinator.
