Marina Coast Water District recently honored O&M Supervisor Joe Pineda for two decades of service. Joe began employment 20 years ago as a Collections System Operator I, and has developed an extensive institutional knowledge of water and wastewater systems.
In his current leadership role, Joe leverages his experience, expertise, and great rapport with staff to foster a collaborative learning environment. His calm demeanor and willingness to help have always made it easy for staff to approach him for guidance. He is responsible for assigning daily tasks, leading special projects, and assisting with reporting compliance for the District's water, wastewater, and recycled water systems.
Joe took on the backflow compliance role early in his career and has done a tremendous job ensuring that the Districtβs water system is protected. He also oversees hazard assessments and Cross-Connection surveys, where he works with customers to ensure backflow devices are installed and brought into compliance.
Joe has gained a high level of achievement, and currently holds the following professional certifications:
