Joel H. Bennett - A Tribute
 
The Asian American Architects and Engineers Association of Southern California deeply appreciates the dedication and support from Mr. Joel H. Bennett as our Advisory Counsel for the past 26 years.  Mr. Bennett has brought his 50 years of executive level experience in corporate management, consulting, engineering, design and construction industry both locally and internationally, to the AAa/e.  Mr. Bennett's tenure as an Advisory Council started in 1991 from his passion and commitment to supporting the success of small, women and minority owned firms in the A/E industry. Through his contribution, the AAa/e has evolved into a well-recognized and highly respected professional organization of Asian-Pacific Islander (API) architects, engineers and construction professionals in the Southern California region.

Mr. Bennett's impressive career is highlighted by key positions with some of the most respected firms in our industry.  His impressive list of career accomplishments has had a significant impact to the A/E industry through his leadership and expertise.
  • Executive Vice President of Parsons Corporation, responsible for International Operations and Global Business Development.
  • President of Parsons Engineering Science, an environmental and water infrastructure business serving both public and private sectors.
  • Deputy Director of Corporate Development with Parsons Brinckerhoff
  • Board Director of Parsons Brinckerhoff
  • Chairman and President of Parsons Brinckerhoff International, Inc.
  • Founding Chairman and President of PB Power Inc., a global power consulting engineering subsidiary.
  • Senior Vice President of Parsons Brinckerhoff, Inc. where he led major corporate strategic planning activities and acquisitions, resulting in significant expansion in the United Kingdom, Australia/ New Zealand and the Middle East.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, in his role as an Advisory Council for the AAa/e, Mr. Bennett has had a tremendous impact to those he mentored and helped develop into leaders in the A/E industry.  He has continued to encourage the AAa/e to focus on providing ongoing professional development programs and support for young professionals. Mr. Bennett continues to support and mentor the AAa/e Board of Directors and members where he was instrumental in helping to develop a comprehensive strategic plan that outlines the future of the Association for both short-term and long-term growth.   
This year (2017), the AAa/e Board of Directors unanimously voted to elevate Mr. Bennett's status to Emeritus Advisory Council for his continued support and guidance for the AAa/e.   Please join the Asian American Architects and Engineers Association, the Board and Members, in congratulating Mr. Bennett as the Emeritus Advisory Counsel.
