Family Mission Night

On Friday, November 18, from 6:00 – 8:00, our children and their families will gather in the Fellowship Hall and work together to spread God’s love to others. After sharing a pizza dinner together, families will have several mission projects to work on for the rest of the evening. We will be making Christmas cards for our In-Home Ministry members, which will accompany poinsettias that Gordon and David will deliver to our dear members who cannot make it to our church services. Each family will make their own Advent Calendar, comprised of small gestures of kindness to do each day during Advent. And we will be collecting canned goods for Greer Relief. Families are asked to RSVP to Susan Felton. It will be a great night of fun, fellowship, and spreading God’s love!

Merry early Christmas from the Angel Tree Ministry! This year our Angel Tree Ministry will once again focus on providing gifts for the Christmas Morning Shoppe of Greer Relief. This program is a big hit with the parents and guardians who participate. They earn RENEW Rewards throughout the year through their participation in Greer Relief’s many engaging opportunities to learn on a variety of topics (wellness, budgeting, job skills, crafts, and others). Empowerment and dignity come with the ability to earn rewards and then use those rewards to shop for your own family. Join us as we partner with Greer Relief this season to help our neighbors in need make strides toward self-sufficiency.

There are two wonderful ways to participate in the Angel Tree this year. You can simply use Greer Relief’s Amazon wish list for the Christmas Morning Shoppe to purchase gifts (which can be sent directly to Greer Relief’s Christmas Morning Shoppe or dropped off at the church office). Or, you can make a donation to John Knox Presbyterian Church, earmarked for the Angel Tree (cash, check, or through the John Knox app). We will purchase gifts and gift cards with the donations we receive.

The deadline for monetary donations is November 27; any gifts must be turned in by December 7—the earlier, the better! So, get clicking here!  If you have any questions, please contact either Betsy Turnbull or Stevie Greene.

Thank you for your continued generosity!

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Please make plans to join us for one of the most special services of the year - the annual Hanging of the Greens on November 27 at 5:00pm. This family friendly celebration requires congregation participation of all ages as we transform our Sanctuary and officially kick off the Advent season. All are welcome - consider inviting a friend as well!

A time of fellowship and refreshments will follow the service in the Fellowship Hall. It's time to dig out your favorite holiday cookie recipe and sign up to help! Please click on the link to sign up to bring sweet treats and/or bottles of apple juice. Thank you!

Christmas Flower Fund

You may contribute to the poinsettia flower fund by sending in a suggested donation of $14.00 for each person or family you would like to remember. This could provide you with an opportunity to remember someone in a special way during the Christmas season. The names of those being honored will be listed in the Christmas Eve bulletins. Poinsettias can be taken home after the Christmas Eve service as available.

Please click on the form below, fill out and submit. Donations can be placed in the offering plate or mailed along with contribution clearly marked “Christmas Flower Fund” to the Church Office no later than December 4, 2022. Payments can also be received through our Church App.

One of the many things that makes JKPC unique is our delivery of homemade bread to first time visitors. This is a custom that started decades ago and long time members still fondly remember receiving the thoughtful gift when they first visited. This ministry requires both bread bakers and bread deliverers; because of an upswing in visitors over the past months, we need your help! If you are willing to either bake bread or deliver (occasionally and on a rotation schedule), please contact Annalynn Barnett.

In this season of concern, the Church’s witness of service and caring is more important than ever. John Knox is doing all we can to continue our ministry in ways that keep us connected to God and to each other. Please continue your offerings so that we can serve fully throughout this time of need.

Ways to give:
  • Mail your contributions to the church at 35 Shannon Dr., Greenville, SC 29615
  • Set up electronic payments through your financial institution
  • Use the John Knox app: click on “Give”

Thank you for prioritizing the ministry of Jesus Christ in your financial life.
