How Can I Help?

As our eyes have taken in images from our neighbors in the storm's path, our hearts yearn for God's care for them. Pray for safety and effectiveness of emergency workers currently on site in affected places, both nearby and throughout the region. Pray for the resilience and emotional health of survivors and responders. Pray for all the resources--human, material, and spiritual--that communities will need in the days ahead.

We know that the work ahead will take time, and there will be ample opportunity for John Knox to mobilize our volunteer energy toward the needs in our region. Our leaders will be discerning the path forward in consultation with Foothills Presbytery's Disaster Preparedness and Response Team and Presbyterian Disaster Assistance.

If you choose to donate to John Knox Presbyterian Church, we will use these funds to support our own response as well as our partners' relief efforts. Please note in the memo: Disaster Response.

LAKE FOREST ELEMENTARY

WINTER NEEDS

Calling all John Knox faithful friends of Lake Forest Elementary! Winter is coming and Lake Forest has great need for winter clothes for their students. The following are the items needed:

  1. Socks - youth sizes and adult small
  2. Caps and gloves
  3. Pants - sweats, leggings elastic waist - all youth sizes and small/medium adult
  4. Underwear - all youth sizes
  5. Heavy coats - all sizes small to medium adult

All items can be deposited in the large, white box in the narthex. Your John Knox generosity does not go unnoticed by the faculty and students at Lake Forest. Your faithfulness to Jesus’ command in Matthew 25:35-37 is inspiring. Thank you for all you do!

John Knox has a wonderful nursery staff dedicated to loving and caring for our youngest children. Our nursery is growing, and we would love to have a few more loving hands to assist our staff in caring for these children on Sunday mornings. We welcome children from infants to K5. If you would like to serve as a nursery volunteer, please take a look at the dates below and sign up for any Sundays that suit your schedule. Please contact Susan Felton to make sure we have a current background check on file.

It is our hope that serving in our nursery will offer you a chance to lend a loving hand to our nursery staff while getting to know our young children and their families. Our Nursery Director, Greta Williams, will be available each Sunday to help you know how you can be of assistance. If you have any questions, please contact Susan Felton.
