Food insecurity is a real and significant threat to many of our clients, even after we've helped end their homelessness. We help our clients utilize local food resources, like
Manna Food Center, but not all of our clients are able to find transportation or carry heavy groceries back to their homes. This is where the
Healthy Food Every Day Program comes in!
The Healthy Food Every Day Programconnects MCCH families and individuals to food assistance programs in our county by using volunteers to transport the food. Volunteers can play a key role in ensuring MCCH clients have the healthy food they need to continue thriving in their new homes and reach their goals!
In our Urgent Needs Facebook Group, generous community members provide urgently needed items to MCCH clients. Many of these donations may seem small in the long run, but they can have a powerful impact.
In September, o
ur Urgent Needs Task Force group provided over 30 items, including household items like sheets and grocery gift cards. Although it may seem like a small gesture, donating these items shows our clients that their community cares about them. When recovering from the trauma of homelessness, that reminder can be a glimmer of light in the darkness.
Join our Facebook grouptoday to directly support MCCH clients by donating the items they need!
