I hope we are offering some thought-provoking materials for you today. And speaking of thought-provoking, let me share one of my favorite fishing experiences ever.
Kings were slow across Alaska this year and King salmon fishing on my secret river closed the day I arrived. On top of that, Sockeye salmon fishing never really got hot the whole time I was there. Doesn’t sound like I’m headed for success, does it?
But this year, for the first time, my wife joined me for my trip. She was going stir-crazy with the lock-down and quarantine, not to mention the 5 straight months of working from home rather than in her office in Seattle. She needed a change of scenery. And if you haven’t been there, Alaska offers some the world’s finest.
In a nutshell, I had no idea how much I would enjoy seeing her level of drive and focus to learn to cast, hook and eventually land her own Sockeye. Having the chance to watch her limit-out unassisted on our last day was incredibly rewarding for me. In fact, it was awesome!! Click here for the trip’s highlight!
I could go on forever about fishing… Let me summarize. Sometimes life offers us lessons if we are open to receiving them. 2020 is teaching me that expectations and goals sometimes need to be adjusted. Learning something new still takes drive and determination. But with focused effort and a winning attitude, we can still succeed!
You should expect follow-up on today’s In Focus from your Johnstone Supply Territory Manager. They will happy to discuss this in detail and answer any questions you may have.
I appreciate your time this morning
