In today’s Tech Talk edition, I would like to remind everyone of the importance of testing for CARBON MONOXIDE.
According to the CDC, every year in the U.S. at least 430 people die from accidental CO poisoning and about 50,000 people end up visiting the emergency room due to accidental carbon monoxide poisoning.
Carbon monoxide (CO) is an odorless, colorless gas that is produced when combustion reactions are not fully completed, either through lack of oxygen or due to low mixing. A properly sized and installed venting system is crucial so as not to capture the products of combustion, including CO, within the home structure.
