Meet This Year’s Evening of Empowerment Keynote Speaker, Heather Catlin!
|
|
Heather is a two-time Emmy award winning journalist with more than a decade of experience with a national audience. She has been named one of Atlanta Business Chronicle's 2020 40 Under Forty and selected to Leadership Georgia's class of 2020/2021. Previously, she has worked with NBC Olympics, the Late Show with David Letterman and Fox Sports. She has also served as host and producer of Hot Topics, a weekly news/entertainment show airing in 8 major markets, for which she has interviewed celebrities such as John Travolta, Betty White, Tom Holland, Zendaya, Samuel L. Jackson, and George Clooney.

Heather is a dual citizen of the UK and USA, and a former varsity collegiate athlete (volleyball) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Heather is passionate about ovarian cancer research and serves as Vice Chairman of the Board of the Ovarian Cancer Institute.

The nomination deadline for the ATHENA Leadership Award is quickly approaching!
Created in 1982 by Martha Mertz, former board chair of the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce, the ATHENA Leadership Award honors individuals who strive towards the highest levels of professional accomplishment, excel in their chosen field, have devoted time and energy to their community, and pave paths for other women to follow. Past recipients include Karen Grannemann, Elaine Hardy, Michelle Massey and Dorothy E. Maxwell.
The nomination deadline is Friday, Sept. 15. The nomination criteria and form are available below.

Leadership Lansing Program Helps Emerging Leaders Tap into Their Potential
|
|
The Leadership Lansing program is a talent initiative designed to develop a new generation of community leaders in the Lansing region. Participants will receive extensive training to enhance their leadership skills, which will benefit their performance inside their organizations and the community.
Graduates of the program will have a greater understanding of how essential community institutions contribute to the region's overall quality of life. Applications are now being accepted for the 2023-24 cohort. The deadline to apply is Friday, Sept. 15.
