Program

12-3PM: Hike and Tour Project Area
Meet at the Stegosaurus Lot across CO-93 (State Hwy 26, Golden, CO 80401)
3-6PM: Socialize and Network at Over Yonder Brewing CO (18455 W Colfax Ave #103, Golden, CO 80401)
Free drink tickets will be provided to all participants at the conclusion of the tour—come ready to learn and enjoy a refreshment on us!
6PM onwards: Live Music

Route Map

The tour will explore a multi-year 720-acre aerial herbicide treatment aimed at controlling cheatgrass and other invasive annual weeds. Participants can choose between two route options:

Short Route (1.6 miles round trip) focusing on the 2022 treatment area
Long Route (3.3 miles round trip) covering both the 2022 and 2024 treatment areas

Know Before You Go!

The weather can be unpredictable this time of year, so long pants, sturdy closed-toed footwear, sun-protective clothing (e.g. wide-brimmed hat, sunglasses, etc.) are recommended. Rattlesnakes have been observed throughout the project area so attendees should be prepared for possible encounters during the hike.
