Due to Covid-19 our Los Angeles 6-weekend Gestalt Therapy training will be (for now) online with Zoom until it is safe to meet face to face. We begin this year on October 24-25, 2020 and we have several openings remaining in the program.
NEW TOTALLY ONLINE LOS ANGELES TRAINING GROUP
We have heard from several people outside of Southern California, asking if they can join our Los Angeles program. With this in mind, we are excited to start an additional new group only for people outside of Southern California which will both begin and remain an online group – even when it is safe for the other local groups in this program to meet again in person.
ONLINE LOS ANGELES GROUP SCHEDULE:
This time schedule does not include breaks:
1. (Daily) 3.5 hours of group including faculty live demonstrations, options for participants to work as therapist with live supervision and with all clinical work being discussed and related to theory.
2. (Daily) 1.5 hours of small group supervised skill trainings – which may be dividing the group in half for this with each half being with the Trainer or Group Leader, or, depending on the total size of the group, we may bring in additional supervisors.
3. (Per-weekend) 1.25 hours of theory presentation and discussion
The faculty for this new online group will be the same/similar to the regular Los Angeles faculty: Rita Resnick, Ph.D., Bob Resnick, Ph.D, Liv Estrup, M.A., Paul Plakos, M.A. and invited guest Trainers (from around the world). Trainers will rotate through this group (as they do with the other L.A. groups) and the Group Leader (who will be with this new group for all six weekends) will be Nelly Nassar, Ph.D. Nelly is a GATLA certified Gestalt Therapist who has been a Group Leader with us previously and is now welcomed back with us after her maternity leave.
There are two issues here with developing this new group:
1. TIME: Although this new group is theoretically open to participants worldwide (from any time zone), the time zones don’t easily cooperate. By coordinating the daily schedule with the other three Los Angeles training groups, the groups will be scheduled from 9:30AM – 5PM Pacific Time - so that probably only people from the Western Hemisphere would be interested in joining. While not limiting who can join or from where, our expectations is that this could be attended by people from Canada, USA, Mexico, Central and South America.
2. LEVEL OF GROUP: Until we hear from who is interested, we can’t know if this will be an Introductory, Intermediate or Advanced level group – or even some kind of a mixed group - or perhaps we would organize several new, online groups.
Given the above, please let us know (ritaresnick@gatla.org) if you interested. The group is open to therapists, counselors, matriculated graduate students and a few allied professionals.
Fee: The fee for the group is US$1900 for the six-weekend series- 12 days. Registration and the financial commitment is for the entire series, whether you attend or not. 5% surcharge for Credit Card or bank wire fees. PayPal also accepted.
Dates: Saturdays and Sundays 9:30 am to 5:00 pm Pacific Time: (The first weekend will be PDT and after that until March 14, 2021 it will PST. After March 14, 2021 we will go back to PDT.)
2020: Oct 24-25, Nov 14-15
2021: Jan 23-24, Feb 20-21, March 20-21, May 15-16
72 CEU’s will be available.
There are some partial work-scholarships available for therapists, counselors and students – especially those from marginalized populations.
