MKE Hour of Code
TAKE THE CHALLENGE

Teach an Hour of Code - December 7–13
Presented by the Milwaukee Tech Hub Coalition and powered by NEWaukee
Help foster the region's young tech talent!

Join the Milwaukee Tech Hub Coalition in a regional initiative to teach an hour of code to local students during Computer Science Education Week: December 7–13, 2020. By being a part of this effort, you help spread the message to students that our community is invested in their development and wants them to have a place in the greater MKE tech ecosystem.

Our goal is to sustain a minimum of 5000 Hours of Code despite the COVID-19 pandemic with the active support of Coalition members and the greater MKE community at large. This is the third year area businesses, non-profits and educators will come together to provide STEM learning opportunities at this scale.
We know that schools are just reopening, but December will be here before you know it. We want everyone to have enough time to adequately plan for participation and make sure we can match you/your organization with virtual events, volunteers and/or student groups leading up to the December event. Register today - sign-up takes less than a minute!

You don't need to be a technologist to volunteer - code.org and Code with Google offer turnkey, off-the-shelf curriculum for all age and experience levels. We expect most events/activities will be run virtually, so be sure to download our toolkit for guidelines on planning virtual activities. All you have to do is pick an activity and a time to volunteer when we get closer to the event. For more information, visit our website or contact HoC@mketech.org
