Rio Grande Trail Designation Celebration On Tuesday, Oct. 2, also the 50th Anniversary of the National Trails Act, the Rio Grande Trail Commission will be designating more than 35 miles of the Rio Grande Trail, and you are welcome to join in the celebration. BLM guided hikes will be hosted the morning of Oct. 2, and will commence with a celebration of the designation at 11:00 am. Date: Tuesday, Oct. 2 Time: 11:00 am (hikes begin at 8:30 am and 9:30 am) Location: Rio Grande West Rim Trail (US 64, 10 miles west of Taos) To RSVP, email riograndetrail.com@state.nm.us
