Join Orvis Tysons Corner and the Northern Virginia Chapter of Trout Unlimited as we welcome our upcoming guest speaker, Tim Cammisa as he hosts a special series of events on Saturday, June 6th, 2026! 

Tim Cammisa is the founder of Trout & Feather, an educational fly fishing brand dedicated to helping anglers improve through clear, practical instruction. Through his YouTube channel, written guides, and email community, Tim reaches thousands of anglers with a focus on fly tying, tactics, and on-the-water decision-making.

He is the author of Tying Euro Nymphs and Fly Tying for Everyone, a featured presenter at The Fly Fishing Show, and hosts fly fishing trips to destinations including Montana, Alaska, and Iceland. Based in Pennsylvania, Tim is known for breaking down complex concepts into simple, effective approaches that anglers can apply immediately.

Advanced Tying Class:

1:30pm to 3:30 PM

Start your day with an ADVANCED tying class led by Tim. After writing two books on fly tying, he is considered a foremost authority on the subject. Grab your fly-tying gear or bring your own and we can provide all the necessary materials for the class. Over the course of two hours, he will lead you through a minimum of FOUR patterns from his book "Fly Tying for Everyone," including the X Caddis, Cahill Frenchie, Jig Bugger, and CDC Walt's Worm! All of which you can take home with you and put to the test on your local waters! 

Class is limited to 10 tiers at

$40 a ticket, 

but feel free to register as an

observer at no cost! 

This is an ADVANCED tying class.  

Prior knowledge of fly-tying basics is a prerequisite! 

Book Signing:

4:00pm to 5:00pm

Having written two books, "Fly Tying for Everyone" as well as "Tying Euro Nymphs," join us following the fly-tying demonstration as Tim spends the hour signing books and answering your questions. Feel free to bring in your own copy or purchase one from the man himself!

"Successful Strategies to

Catch More Trout"

6:30pm to 7:30pm

Stick around and join Northern Virginia Trout Unlimited for their member meeting where Tim will present: "Successful Strategies to Catch More Trout". 

In this presentation, Tim focuses on many areas within fly fishing to improve your fishing success. Paying attention to the small details will pay dividends in the long run, and those are discussed, including some of the strategies Tim employs to catch more trout. With topics such as insect identification, reading the water, and employing varying techniques, lots of new information is shared, leading to greater success on the water!
