Meet Rachel! A long-time supporter of A Community of Friends, Rachel made her first donation back in 2017 because she believes wholeheartedly in ACOF’s mission and comprehensive services, “bringing together all the puzzle pieces needed to end homelessness one person at a time”. For Rachel, there’s comfort in knowing that her donations go directly to solving the housing and homelessness crisis.
It can feel overwhelming knowing that more than 75,000 people are homeless every single night in Los Angeles, and that individuals and families in nearby counties are grappling with similar housing affordability pressures. But, in supporting ACOF, Rachel is making a decision to turn the tide on homelessness.
Rachel spent 35 years working to end homelessness in Los Angeles. That career included several years as ACOF’s Chief Operating Officer, a role she was drawn to because of the organization's comprehensive and successful approach that “keeps folks safe and housed for years”.
With a donation to ACOF today, you’ll be joining Rachel and thousands of other people who are committed to ending homelessness for people living with mental illness.
Here’s Rachel’s advice: “Do your part to help end homelessness by supporting ACOF. There’s no better way to make your mark on poverty, mental illness, and homelessness than by providing homes to vulnerable people who are homeless and providing the support needed to permanently thrive in those homes.”
Will you join Rachel in making a gift to end homelessness this December?
