We hope you'll join us this month--
There are many fun & exciting activities
planned for October!
(Make sure you read to the end...
you don't want to miss any of the news!)
Cranberry Picking Expedition
Wednesday, October 15 at 1:00 PM
or Saturday, October 18 at 10:00 AM
The 300 Committee owns some abandoned cranberry bogs that still produce cranberries. Join Outreach volunteers for a visit to one of these wetlands to admire the beauty, think about wetlands and pick cranberries.
Total time = 2 hours.
We'll meet at T3C (in the bike path parking lot behind 157 Locust Street) and carpool to the site. Boots and something to kneel on are recommended!
Space is limited, so these expeditions are by reservation only.
Please call 508-540-0876 or email lhelfrich@300committee.org to reserve your spot.
Fall Discovery Walk in Hatchville
Saturday, October 18, 10 AM to 2 PM
Families and young people are invited to visit two special protected lands--Matthew Souza Conservation Area and the Dupee Parcel--to discover "hidden history" in the woods!
Hosts and guides from the Coonamessett Pond Association will be on site; cider and snacks will be provided. Meet at the entrance to the Matt Souza Area on Hatchville Road (located across from 154 Hatchville Road). Limited parking at Matt Souza with more space diagonally across Hatchville Road in dirt lot. Wear long pants and socks.
Stewardship Coordinator Meet and Greet
Saturday, October 18, 2 to 4 PM
River Bend Conservation Area
Come one, come all...members, friends, stewards, outdoor volunteers! Please join T3C for an informal get-together to officially welcome Jack Sidar, our new Stewardship Coordinator. Refreshments will be available and we encourage you to take a walk and explore the trails on this lovely 10-acre conservation land overlooking the Coonamessett River.
Parking will be provided in the field at River Bend, 682 Sandwich Road, with overflow parking available across the street at the Bartolomei Conservation Area.
We hope you can attend!
