Dear USY Community,
The upcoming month of Elul presents us with a unique opportunity to reflect on our past year before the High Holidays and do Cheshbon Nefesh (internal reflection). We are blessed with a moment to pause, take note of things we are proud of and not so proud of, apologize to those we've hurt, and promise that in the future we will do better. Rambam says the first step in doing teshuva is admitting our shortcomings. During this Elul, join us in our commitment to learning more about the systems of oppression that People of Color face every day in this country. In doing this important teshuva before the High holidays, we can work to fix the structural issues that plague our society. Together, we can commit to using Elul and the framework of our tradition to do Tikun Olam (repairing the world).
