Join us! “Doug DeVore will be giving a historical narrative regarding our dark history of driving the Chinese out of Truckee. It’s a tale full of unlikely heroes, but even more unlikely villains.

The Scripture will be: Matthew 25:31-46 stating that:
"When you refused to help one of the least important among these my little ones, my true brothers and sisters, you refused to help and honor me.’ 46 And they will depart from his presence and go into eternal punishment." 
~Jesus, according to The Passion Translation


Come at 9:00a.m. for Fellowship & Learning:

Adults   ~ Sunday school (9-9:45 am in the Sanctuary Circle).  We hope you can join us this Sunday to talk about the lectionary texts for this week .   Read Matthew 25:31-46 ahead of time if you can but please also come if you are unprepared!

Youth   ~ If parents are in the study   before worship there will be a quiet activity downstairs for the kids. Sunday school will be offered in the Gethsemane House, next door during the Sermon portion of worship.

June 30th after worship we will share brunch and have Kathy Baldock with us about her research on "How the Bible Became Anti-Gay" She will facilitate discussion around this topic and the history of how "homosexual" appeared in the first edition of the RSV translation, and a successful campaign to change the wording based on research of the original Greek.

Centering Prayer   in the Sanctuary Prayer Circle
Tuesday & Wednesday morning 8:00 - 8:30

We often start with the daily meditation from Pray As You Go which is music, scripture and contemplation for 10-12 minutes, followed by the remaining 18-20 minutes of silent meditation. Here is a link to Pray As You Go for you to check out and use on your own!

Kids Can Recycling Ministry: Please continue to bring your CRV recycling to COM and support our ministry with Truckee Lutheran Presbyterian of turning garbage into good!

These recyclables are exchanged for money which is being donated to International Health Partners and Hands of Hope to provide life and hope for children in Tanzania and Zimbabwe.

 The Emergency Warming Center was open 39 nights this winter and provided 282 overnight stays in the center plus an additional 16 nights to families in need. We also served many others with much needed basic necessities and connection to longer term solutions.
