Come at 9:00a.m. for Fellowship & Learning:

Adults   Sunday school (9-9:45 am in the Sanctuary Circle).  We hope you read Luke 13:10-17 ahead of time if you can but please also come if you are unprepared!

Youth   ~ If your parents are in the study   before worship there will be a quiet activity downstairs. Sunday school will be offered in the Gethsemane House, next door during the Sermon portion of worship.

Each family brings: Items to grill, favorite drinks ( no glass containers ), plates & utensils and a side dish, appetizer or dessert to share!
Remember beach toys, games, balls, musical instruments or other fun activities!

Centering Prayer   in the Sanctuary Prayer Circle
Tuesday & Wednesday morning 8:00 - 8:30

We often start with the daily meditation from Pray As You Go which is music, scripture and contemplation for 10-12 minutes, followed by the remaining 18-20 minutes of silent meditation. Here is a link to Pray As You Go for you to check out and use on your own!

Brian McLaren ~ Shining Lights on a Guided Path Symposium
First United Methodist Church of Reno will host renowned Christian progressive and global activist  Brian McLaren for a daylong symposium, Shining Lights on a Guided Path, on Saturday, October 12, 2019.
 

It also will feature breakout sessions with innovative regional religious and community leaders, including Great Northern District Superintendent Rev. Blake Busick; justice advocate and organizer Rev. Jeanelle Nicolas Ablola; Rev. Rob Rynders, co-author of The Sacred Secular and a co-founder of City Square Church and The Lead Conference; Rev. Jennifer Goto; and Nevadans for the Common Good. 
 
Shining Lights on a Guided Path will take place 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 12 at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center, with breakout sessions at various locations in the two cities. Carpooling to breakout sessions is advised. A book signing session with Brian McLaren, 5:45-6:30 p.m., will culminate the event.
