Building opportunities for sustainable, affordable housing in northern Arizona.

MARCH 2026

Behind the Doors: From Former Motel to Workforce-Attainable Apartments

In the video above, join our CEO, Devonna, for an inside look at Housing Solutions’ 29 new workforce-attainable rentals at Western Hills Apartments! This former Route 66 motel has been fully remodeled into modern studio, 1, and 2-bedroom apartments, now providing housing for Flagstaff's middle-income earnings, enabling them to live locally in the community they serve.

As our third "adaptive reuse" project, we’re proud to reimagine existing spaces for much-needed housing, while also reducing environmental impact compared with new construction.

We are deeply grateful to our staff, Board of Directors, and the City of Flagstaff for helping make this vision a reality. Click below to learn more and submit a rental interest application!

MARCH HIGHLIGHTS

Two New Affordable Rentals

Housing Solutions recently purchased two additional Flagstaff condos that will now serve as permanently attainable rentals for local low-income households, helping make rent more sustainable in our community. Our first two tenants—households who previously experienced homelessness—have already been identified.

We’re deeply grateful to the donors and supporters who make this work possible, and to the City of Flagstaff for supporting this project through CDBG funding. Thank you as well to Councilmembers Anthony Garcia and Lori Matthews for touring the units and celebrating this milestone with us.

Izabel St Construction Update

Second-story framing and roof trusses are now up on our 11 new affordable apartments, bringing this project one step closer to welcoming future residents home. These homes will expand safe, stable, and affordable housing options for local low-income households in Flagstaff.

Volunteer of the Month

Sandy is our March Volunteer of the Month at Sharon's Attic! She is an incredibly kind and warm addition to the team. She believes strongly in supporting survivors of domestic violence. We are so thankful for her help at Sharon's Attic!

HOUSING SOLUTIONS' MARCH IMPACT

TRANSITIONAL HOUSING

Sharon Manor

Last month, 2 households experiencing homelessness and surviving domestic violence moved into safe, supportive transitional housing at Sharon Manor. They now have access to trauma-informed case management and resources to help them rebuild.

JoJo's Place

In February, we celebrated one successful move-out and welcomed three new residents experiencing homelessness to our furnished JoJo’s Place studio apartments. Residents have access to on-site case management as they work toward permanent housing. We’re grateful to provide safe, affordable units for these new beginnings.

LOW-INCOME RENTALS

Flagstaff Rentals

Last month, 25 low-income Flagstaff families were able to stay stably and affordably housed through our house and condo rentals, providing safety, security, and long-term stability via permanently affordable rental opportunities.

Oak Wash Homes

At our Oak Wash Homes rentals in Cottonwood, 29 formerly homeless households are paying affordable rent—helping create stability, support better health, and open the door to new beginnings.

WORKFORCE HOUSING

Western Hills Apartments

Last month, we officially launched 29 new workforce-attainable rentals at Western Hills Apartments! This former Route 66 motel has been fully remodeled—now providing housing that helps Flagstaff’s middle-income earners stay in the community they serve.

We look forward to sharing updates about the households who will benefit from this newest program in the months ahead.

HOMEOWNERSHIP ASSISTANCE

First Time Homebuyers

Last month, 1 northern Arizona household became a first-time homeowner thanks to down payment assistance through our pre-purchase program! Safe, stable, affordable housing is a foundation for health and strong communities, and we're honored to help make that possible.
