NASW Continues to Advocate to Have Social Work Considered a Professional Degree

ADVOCACY ALERT: Help Protect the Social Work Profession!

The Department of Education's new "RISE Rule" limits social work graduate loans to $20,500/year, while other fields can access up to $50,000/year.

A recent court ruling paused these strict definitions, but social work was explicitly left off the temporary restoration list, leaving student funding in limbo.

NASW has partnered with the Advanced Professional Workforce Alliance to lobby Congress for a permanent legislative fix. Our students and our workforce deserve stability.
