Dear Broadview Residents,

I am writing to provide you with an update on recent events in our Village and to share important community information.

In recent weeks, the federal ICE facility in Broadview has been the site of ongoing demonstrations. I want to acknowledge that while many voices seek to be heard, our priority remains the safety and well-being of our residents, business partners and demonstrators. I am proud of the work of the Broadview Police Department and the Broadview Fire Department, who continue to respond with professionalism, ensuring demonstrations are managed safely while protecting our community and local businesses. We support voices being heard in a safe and respectful way.

It is also with great sadness that I share news of the tragic loss of two of our residents, Joycelyn Everage and Nerissa Lee, whose lives were taken in an act of domestic violence in Berwyn. On behalf of the Village of Broadview, we extend our deepest condolences to their families and loved ones.
