On May 21, the reintroduction of the Traveling Exotic Animal and Public Safety Protection Act (TEAPSPA) was announced by Raúl Grijalva (D-AZ), David Schweikert (R-AZ), and Jan Creamer, President of Animal Defenders International (ADI). Jungle Friends is honored to join a coalition of 20 animal organizations led by ADI to support this vital bill.
The abuse of animals in circuses and other "entertainment" venues cannot continue! While such performances may seem amusing, the training and housing conditions can be incredibly stressful, and often abusive.

For monkeys, their entire lifetime is affected when they are exploited for entertainment. As infants, they are stolen from their mother's arms as early as just a few days old. It is not hard to imagine the horror both baby and mother must feel during this forced separation.
Traveling animals are deprived of physical, emotional and social needs.These animals are often seen rocking, swaying, and pacing -- all indicating that they are in distress.
