Mission Blitz Wrap Up

What a fantastic Mission Blitz Day! We had such a great response with almost 100 volunteers! A big thank you to our Bon Air Baptist family, it is a pleasure serving such a missionally passionate church!  

We were able to share the resurrection story with more than 50 children and their families at Suburban Village, beautify the outdoor campus at Fisher Elementary School, assist with a furniture drive at Caritas to help families transition from homelessness to being housed, provide hand-assembled picnic tables to Westover Hills UMC ministry, and help organize donations at Hope Thrift and the three Richmond Baptist Centers. Together, we celebrated a Saturday morning of honoring God by our actions. Great job!  

I also want to thank Candyce Saunders for helping organize this huge event while I was in Nicaragua. She did an amazing job making sure we were prepared. I look forward to our next BonAirPalooza event, The Community Bash on May 17, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. See you there!

What does the Bible say about the human saga, this journey from womb to tomb? According to the Bible life gets better and better. At the same time, it gets harder and harder. Palm Sunday is where we see this most clearly. In order for the new to come, something must first die.

Year to date, we’re in negative territory due to the March 1 payroll hitting our bank account on February 29. In accounting that is a calling a “timing issue.” March was going to have three payrolls but now the first March payroll was charged to February and March will have two payrolls. Thank you for your generosity which provides wages to the church staff who work hard for you and for God.
