Blessing of the School Supplies for Love Elementary

We'll wrap up our school supply drive for our lil' neighbors this weekend by blessing them during Sunday morning worship service and commissioning them to serve and bless the youngest among us in our neighborhood.

We’re partnering with neighborhood school Love Elementary to provide supplies to students who could use who an extra grace and generosity. Our goal is 50 count of each of the basic elementary items and we are so close! Click the link in the orange box below to see what's left and bring with you Sunday morning!

Giving to Hill Country

Helping our Neighbors in Hill Country

...the whole creation is groaning together and suffering labor pains... Romans 8:22

All creation groans and longs for the day when its healing is complete and our hope is fulfilled. We groan through this in between time with our Hill Country neighbors grieving devastating recent flooding within many of the same communities that one year ago endured desolate loss. To all who've given to support the Rio Texas of the UMC's recovery work, thank you so much. You may still give between now and this coming Sunday. Curious about how to connect with your neighbors? About who God's calling us to be and what God's calling us to do in the Heights? Pastor Hannah and Lay Leader Meredith Miller will attend this workshop Sat. Aug. 8th 9:30am-1pm and looking for friends to join! If your child or grandchild is looking for a way to serve, we have just the spot for them! Encourage them to become an acolyte!

Join Pastor Hannah and Ms. Leonor for a very short training in the sanctuary immediately following worship on Sunday, August 16th. Please plan to attend with your child so you'll hear what they learn and can help answer any questions that come up for them. Our acolyte sign-up sheet is in the narthex for you to select the Sundays your child serves.

Let us pray for our acolytes-in-training that God will bless them as they learn about the light of Christ and how we are called to share that light with our neighbors every week!
