The Seattle FIFA World Cup 26™ Local Organizing Committee (SeattleFWC26) announced today that Bremerton and Kitsap County are among the nine locations across the state selected to host fan zones, in addition to the Seattle Fan Celebration hosted at the Seattle Center. 

 In a joint statement, Kitsap County Commissioner Katie Walters, Bremerton Mayor Greg Wheeler, and Port Orchard Mayor Rob Putaansuu said, “We are thrilled that Kitsap County and the City of Bremerton have been selected as a SeattleFWC26 fan zone, welcoming fans from around the globe to our extraordinary region."

2024 Update

The Olympic Workforce Development Council is proud to sponsor a Small Non-Profit Business Grant with our Commerce Reinvestment Program (CRP) initiative, in collaboration with WorkSource Clallam and WorkSource Kitsap.

The CRP initiative aims to support non-profits serving Black, Latine, and Tribal communities in Clallam, Jefferson, and Kitsap Counties.

Selected organizations are eligible to receive up to $10,000 toward growth and expansion asset purchases.

WA State Small Business Credit Initiative

Small businesses and nonprofits can borrow up to $250,000 and the Flexible loans for Washington’s small businesses & nonprofits - money can be spent flexibly, including on payroll, utilities & rent, supplies, marketing & advertising, building improvements or repairs, and other business expenses. Collateral Support Program (CSP): is designed to complement the SBA’s 504 Loan Program. This program assists small businesses with qualifying for financing due to a collateral shortfall in their 504 interim loan.

KEDA's APEX Accelerator Team is available to assist Kitsap businesses who are interested in doing business with the government. Businesses who enter into a contract with the Navy will need to be registered in SAM and become familiar with government contracting protocols. We provide no cost, confidential, one-on-one technical assistance in all aspects of selling to federal, state, and local governments regulations, certifications, marketing and proposal review. WA APEX also assists agencies, departments and primes in their efforts to comply with federal and state procurement diversity and subcontracting goals.
