Happy March Laurel Families,

We are very happy to be back at school and hope everyone is doing well after the recent blizzard! We have some exciting events and lots of information to share for this month, just to name a few… morning meeting, bake sales, movie night, progress reports, conference week, drama performances, possible “leprechauns” visiting, as well as our STEAM Expo!

It’s wonderful to have so many events to look forward to as we get back into the swing of things this month, especially when Daylight Saving Time is right around the corner on Sunday, March 8^th!

March Calendar Reminders

*Tuesday, March 3rd - Monthly Morning Meeting 10 am

We are excited to invite you to join us for this months Morning Meeting presentation by Ms. Julia’s Pre-Kindergarten class who will perform their “Brown Bear” play from Drama class, followed by a presentation from Ms. Abby’s Kindergarten class highlighting their Community Helpers projects. The Kindergarten class will then conclude the event with a performance of their Drama class play, directed by Ms. Paige. We look forward to celebrating our students’ hard work with you, all are welcome to attend!

Bake Sale

Bake Sale Fundraiser for Monthly Morning Meeting! - Families are welcome to bake items for sale, and all proceeds benefit The Laurel School's Annual Fund. Please kindly remember we are a tree nut/peanut aware school and ask families to please not use any of those items in baking.

*Thursday, March 12th - Drama Performance 10am

We are excited to invite all families to a special showcase featuring our Third –Fifth Grade students! Join us as they proudly present original plays they have written and produced in Drama class with Ms. Paige. From script development to performance, our students have poured creativity, collaboration, and enthusiasm into every step of the process. We look forward to celebrating their hard work and dramatic talents with you!

*Thursday, March 12th - Movie Night at Laurel! 5pm-7pm

We will have pizza, drinks, snacks, & treats in Laurel's Community Room on our BIG screen TV! The cost is $25/child. Come in PJ’s & bring snuggly blankets/pillows *Children must be ages 4+ to sign up! Please sign up by either emailing Courtney at office@laurel-school.org or stop by the front office so we can make sure we have enough food! Movie T.B.A!

All Classes Toddler - Fifth Grade will receive via email from your child's teacher.

*Monday, March 16 - Friday, March 20 - Parent Teacher Conference Week

Sign-up for times available will be posted on Remini by Monday, March 9th. Please take this opportunity to schedule these conferences and connect with teachers. We welcome all families in Toddler - Grade 5 to sign up! If you are unable to attend conferences during the times provided, please contact your child's teacher for support! We are happy to help!

*Wednesday, March 25th - S.T.E.A.M. Expo

Our students have been exploring Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics through creative processes of collaboration, problem solving and critical thinking that support a 21st Century education. This school community event is one not to be missed! All family and friends are welcomed, please see below for more details.

Important Aftercare/Club Message 3/25/25

As a reminder on this day for the S.T.E.A.M. Expo event 3/25/25, aftercare/clubs from 3pm - 4:30pm will not be available for students Toddler to Grade 5. We appreciate your understanding so we can prepare for this event.

Bake Sale Fundraiser

If you would like to contribute to the bake sale, please bring all baked goods in by Tuesday, March 24th OR on the morning of the event. All proceeds will benefit Laurel's Annual Fund! Thank you!

S.T.E.A.M. Expo - 3/25/25

We are thrilled to invite you to our annual Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics (S.T.E.A.M.) Expo, a celebration of curiosity, creativity, and 21st-century learning in action! This special event highlights our students’ enthusiasm for discovery and their excitement as they integrate science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics into meaningful, hands-on experiences.

Students from Toddler through Grade 5 will showcase individual and collaborative projects representing weeks of research, observation, experimentation, and study. Our 2nd–5th grade students will also present individualized projects that incorporate the full scientific process, demonstrating thoughtful inquiry and critical thinking skills. We invite you to explore student displays, participate in interactive activities, and enjoy engaging presentations that reflect the hard work and innovation of our learners.

Laurel Day Camp - Update

Thank you to the families who have submitted their applications! We are currently preparing and sending out invoices, and we will be extending the 5% pay-in-full discount for those families who wish to take advantage of it.

Thank you all for your understanding and patience as we continue catching up following last week’s power outage. Your support and flexibility are greatly appreciated.
