Holiday Closing
The Staying Put Office will be closed on

Wed., Feb. 6, 12 pm: Lunch and Learn at Lapham: Online Learning. Aggie Aspinwall and Marylou Wilkinson, the 
Gadget Girls, will show you how to find free, fun and interesting online classes, lectures and videos. RSVP.

Tues., Feb 12, 12 pm: Lunch and Fun at Lapham: Hot Diggity Dogs. Hot dogs with all the fixings and the Westminster dog show. Free. RSVP.
 
Wed., Feb 13, 6:30 - 7:30 pm:   Necessary Conversations: "Senior Lifestyle Options and Choosing Your Ideal Living Situation." Lamb Room, New Canaan Library.   Panelists will discuss various living situations balancing needs for safety and independence. Free. RSVP.

Wed., Feb. 20, 12 pm: Lunch and Fun at Lapham: That's Presidential. History Teacher Al Perry will present fun and interesting facts about U.S. Presidents. RSVP.
 
Thurs., Feb. 28, 12 pm: Fairfield County Giving Day Lunch. Stop by the Office with a donation of any size and enjoy a delicious lunch catered by Tony's Deli.

Sat., Feb. 16, 2 - 4 pm, Silvermine Arts Center - Reframing Aging: Health, Happiness and the Arts. Lecture and Exhibition. Keynote Lecture by James Kaufman, The Science Behind the Art: How Everyone Can Be Creative and Why It Matters. The exhibit recognizes selected artists' past achievements and their ability to continue to create innovative artwork. RSVP to the Silvermine Arts Center at

Fri., Sat., Sun., Feb. 22 - March 9 , The Town Players of New Canaan Present - "Gaslight" by Patrick Hamilton. This psychological thriller tells the story of a woman whose husband slowly manipulates her into believing she is going insane. Tickets may be purchased online through the Town Players of New Canaan website.
 
Through March 30 at the New Canaan Historical Society - A New Deal for the Arts: The Federal Art Project Era 1933-1943. The show includes large scale works by Justin Gruelle, George Avison, and other WPA artists, as well as documents, works on paper, posters and historical information. Also through March 30 is the Pedro E. Guerrero Exhibit. This exhibit explores the timeline of Pedro's life and work, as well as his friendships with architect Frank Lloyd Wright and the artists Alexander Calder and Louise Nevelson. Wednesdays, 9 am - 3:30 pm through April 10, 2019 at Lapham - Help with 2018 Tax Returns. Volunteers provide free assistance with preparation of State and Federal Tax returns. Special support for seniors and low to moderate income households. Please call 203-594-3620 for an appointment.
