George Washington and author Michael Pollan both have had a profound and enduring influence on humanity’s relationship with food. Washington’s research into how to modernize farming led to new approaches to crop rotation and soil management that remain relevant today. Meanwhile, Pollan’s thoroughly researched books have unearthed insights into how our food is produced and how it shapes our lives.

Please join Pollan in a conversation with USC Price Professor David Sloane as they explore the complex and evolving nature of how to feed a growing population without outstripping nature’s ability to provide. USC Price Dean and distinguished professor of public policy, pharmacy, and economics, Dana Goldman, and President and Chief Executive Officer of George Washington’s Mount Vernon, Douglas Bradburn, will provide opening remarks.

The evening will begin with a networking reception featuring hors d'oeuvres and a hosted bar for those over the age of 21.

This event is brought to you by the USC Sol Price School of Public Policy and the George Washington Presidential Library at Mount Vernon.
