The Gift of Birdfeeding by Dan Ziomek

It’s the holiday season and what better way to celebrate than with a new bird feeder. Whether you are a seasoned feeder watcher or new to the hobby this is the year to add a feeder or two. Rarely in the bird world do we combine all our local feathered friends with such a large influx of northern visitors. Siskins, Redpolls and Grosbeaks to name a few, may visit our feeders this winter. We carry many different feeders and lots of different seeds to keep everyone happy.

Stop in and have a look at our selection and we will help you make the right choice for you and your birds.

December is the Month To :
Protect your Roses when winter winds blow.
  • After the ground has frozen in the fall:
  • For each rose plant form a 6 to 8 inch mound of fresh, loose soil or compost around the base.
  • In the spring when you observe the beginnings of new growth, carefully remove the soil mounds.
  • At this time you should also cut back your rose plants.
  •  Remove all but the 3 strongest canes and then cut those back to 18 inches
