We still have 8 entries left for associates to use. If you are interested in entering one of the festival's races, please contact Tina Simmons ([email protected]) and Alyce Marzola ([email protected]). The entries will be given out first come, first serve.

National Pharmacy Week!

Kicking off this week's celebration are Don Owrey and James McGinnis, who have prepared a message of gratitude and recognition for all the hard work our pharmacy staff do day-in and day-out.

Update to RCCC Masking Policy

As we move into flu season, masking in areas where immunocompromised patients are treated has been found to be a best practice. Beginning Monday, October 16, 2023, universal masking will be required at the John H. “Jack” Burbage Jr. Regional Cancer Care Center for all associates, medical staff, patients and visitors. Associates and medical staff are required to wear a surgical mask when in patient facing areas. Masking will not be required in non-patient care areas (i.e. break rooms and conference rooms). Universal masking will remain in effect until it is amended in writing by the Infection Prevention Team at Atlantic General Hospital.

Safety Ambassadors!

Although you may not have been selected as a Safety Ambassador, there are many who act as a safety ambassador hero every day. We would like to thank those who submitted SIRs to help our organization improve. Accolades go out to the staff members who have prevented an event from occurring by chart checks, identifying/verifying medications, proper patient identifications, safety ideas, taking the extra steps to investigate an event and the reporting of their own mistakes/errors/events to help improve our system.

Remember, everyone has the power to “stop the line." Empowered reporting lets our System Improvement Reporting work for you and our patients. Become a safety ambassador hero.

P= Preventive O= Observation W= with E= Empowered R= Reporting
