What Is the Climate Gap? The climate gap is the disproportionate effects climate change has on low-income communities. According to the University of Southern California, the climate gap causes people to suffer more during extreme weather events, breathe dirtier air, pay more for basic necessities, and have fewer job opportunities.    Research shows these neighborhoods are shouldering much of the burden of excessive waste and single-use plastics. To raise awareness about the climate gap, WeLoveU and Power Home Remodeling will clean up neighborhoods in multiple states facing disparities in litter and pollution.
