Voices Wanted!

Together, with Peabody Recreation, the Peabody Health Dept. and volunteer community members, the Healthy Peabody Collaborative is leading a community PhotoVoice project.

What is PhotoVoice? PhotoVoice, combines the art of photography with the power of storytelling, giving life to both people’s images and their words.

It is our mission to highlight positive stories and achievements of the people in Peabody as a way to foster understanding, empathy, and acceptance. Our mantra has been “what we feed is what will grow” – so please help us to grow the positive!

In Loving Memory of
Jason Bernard

On Saturday, November 22, Jason's family, friends, Mayor Ted Bettencourt and members of the Peabody community gathered at the Brown School to dedicate a beautiful new bench in Jason’s honor.
Click here to watch the ceremony.

The bench is a lasting tribute to the memory of Jason Bernard, whose vibrant young life ended far too soon. Jason’s bench stands as a powerful reminder to
embrace kindness, look out for one another, and stand against bullying, and provides a place for reflection and comfort for all who knew and loved him.

The inscription reads:

Like a Star that faded far too fast. Your brilliance leaves a trail that lasts. We gather here with hearts as one, to finish the fight you'd just begun.

Celebrating Kindness

during October’s National Anti-Bullying Month.

Thanks to the generous sponsorship of the Peabody Education Foundation, all Peabody elementary and middle schools (5,157 students) participated in the Be Kind Challenge, an enrichment program developed by Connor’s Kindness Project (CKP) to help combat bullying and inspire students to lead with empathy, inclusion, and kindness. To ensure the program’s message continues throughout the school year, CKP provided a framework for each school to start its own Kindness Club, encouraging ongoing student leadership, collaboration, and community engagement.
