Upon earning his DVM in 2013 from Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Beverly recently completed a Residency in Small Animal Emergency and Critical Care at Cornell University Hospital for Animals in Ithaca, NY.

Alexandra Kuvaldina, DVM, Practice Limited to Surgery (Surgery)
Dr. Kuvaldina completed her DVM at Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2018. Completing two internships at the University of Missouri Veterinary Health Center (Small Animal Rotating) and Pieper Memorial Veterinary Center (Small Animal Surgery), Dr. Kuvaldina embarked on a Small Animal Surgery Residency at Cornell University Hospital for Animals.

Courtenay M. Brines, DVM, MS, DACVO (Ophthalmology)
Dr. Brines earned her DVM at Iowa State University in 2013. Following veterinary school, she earned her master’s degree in Retinal Physiology and went on to Louisiana State University to complete an ophthalmology internship, a research fellowship, and a comparative ophthalmology residency at The Ohio State University College of Optometry. Dr. Brines received her board certification in veterinary ophthalmology in 2020.

Sarah Hoy, DVM, MS, DACVO (Ophthalmology)
Dr. Hoy earned her DVM from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. She completed a comparative veterinary ophthalmology residency program as well as her master’s degree at The Ohio State University. Dr. Hoy became a board-certified veterinary ophthalmologist in 2011.

We are thrilled to welcome board-certified veterinary ophthalmologists Sarah Hoy, DVM, MS, DACVO, Courtenay Brines, DVM, MS, DACVO, and their team to our hospital. From routine eye exams to complex surgical procedures, ophthalmology specialists are skilled and compassionate caregivers in the realm of animal eye health.
Our Ophthalmology Department will offer personalized, advanced care for a wide range of conditions that affect an animal’s vision, including:
- Cataract surgery with intraocular lens (IOL) implantation
- Chemical ablation
- Corneal grafting surgery
- Distichia & ectopic cilia cryotreatment
- Enucleation
- Exenteration
- Eyelid and corneal laceration repair
- Glaucoma treatment - endolaser, transcleral laser, ahmed shunt placement
- Lensectomy for anterior lens luxation
- Parotid duct transposition/dry eye surgery
- Reconstructive eyelid surgery/blepharoplasty
- Third eyelid membrane surgery

Bill Kellner, DVM, DAVDC became board-certified in veterinary dentistry by the American Veterinary Dental College in 2023. With over 25 years of experience practicing advanced veterinary dentistry and oral surgery, Dr. Kellner has also completed advanced anesthesia and pain management training.

Our Exotics Department, led by Dr. Jordan Adair, provides comprehensive wellness and preventative care, nutrition, advanced diagnostics, medical diagnosis and management, and orthopedic and soft tissue surgery for:
- Small exotic mammals including rabbits, ferrets, guinea pigs, chinchillas, hedgehogs, and all pocket pets
- All non-venomous reptiles
- Most avian species including parrots, raptors, poultry, and waterfowl
- Wildlife (with valid wildlife rehabilitator permit)
