SNOWCASTLES OF NEWCASTLE!

SATURDAY MARCH 4TH 9-5

A Gift of Art is pleased to announce the Snowcastles of Newcastle contest! Taking place on Saturday March 4th at the Clarington Public Library (Newcastle branch.) Individuals and teams will create an original Snowcastle sculpture in a designated space.

Sculptures will be judged on design, process, structural soundness, and overall creativity. Fantastic prizes to be won with a top prize of $500! So gather your team, shovels and snow gear for this cool competition!

Categories include:

- Professionals

- Family (team may consist of adults and children)

- Adults, including seniors whether formed in teams or as individuals

- Children and Youth (team only consists of children under 18)

Are you planning on coming to our Snowcastles of Newcastle event on Saturday?

Well we need your help!

In collaboration with John Albi from Rona, we have created a "snowcastle" of our very own, where we will be collecting food donations for the Clarington East Food Bank!

The day is sure to be great, with our many family fun activities being offered, including horse drawn carriage rides, a visit from Haute Goat, an animal wildlife display, bouncy castle, live music, caricatures, and lastly a maple syrup cotton candy offering!

So if you can, please bring some non-perishables and help us fill up our castle!

Saturday, March 4th from 9-5pm at the Clarington Public Library- Newcastle Branch.

Upcoming Classes and Workshops

Animal Silhouette Woodburning with Cara Jordan

In this workshop, you’ll be able to create a wonderful animal portrait while also learning a new skill! Although this class will present the basics of using a woodburning tool, including how to prepare a surface for burning, transfer patterns, safety, and techniques for using the various tips, students will also learn more intermediate techniques, including adding texture, highlights, and shading.

A Gift of Art’s Book Club is back!
