Events are back, and Wright-Hennepin (WH) can't wait to see you again! Join WH and WH Security this summer for parades, fairs and more. Get some candy, learn about rebates and programs or just come say hi at these summer events: Maple Grove Days (July 15 - 17) Wright County Fair (July 21 - 25) Rockford River Days (August 13 - 15) WH also has a lot of events coming up in the fall and winter, including our first-ever Electric Vehicle (EV) Ride and Drive Event, where members will be able to learn about and even test drive vehicles! John Reynolds appointed as District 4 director

WH's Board of Directors recently appointed John Reynolds as the director for District 4. He lives in Buffalo with his wife, Stacie, and has been a member of WH for 20 years. Reynolds said he hopes to add to “the good service WH has provided” for his fellow cooperative members.  Reynolds was appointed by the WH Board of Directors after Dale Jans retired in May. He will serve the rest of the term as the District 4 director until the 2022 Annual Meeting, when the board seat will be up for election.

Take your next road trip with your electric vehicle

Just a few years ago, taking a long road trip with your EV may not have been possible. In recent years, however, public charging stations have become more and more common, especially along major highways such as Interstate 94. See just how far you can go with your EV, and the next time you take a road trip, consider hopping in your EV. Choose your source of energy with WH's Solar and Renewable Choices

Solar Choice: Lock in a flat rate until December 31, 2037 by purchasing "blocks" of solar choice energy! 1 block = 100 kWh/$16 per month. Renewable Choice: For $1 per month, WH will track and retire Renewable Energy Credits (RECs) of 1,000 kWh per month (12,000 kWh per year) on your behalf.

July's no-bake recipe

Frosty watermelon ice via Taste of Home Yields: 4 servings Prep time: 20 minutes Total time: 2 hours 20 minutes Ingredients:  1 teaspoon unflavored gelatin 2 tablespoons water 2 tablespoons lime juice 2 tablespoons honey 4 cups cubed seedless watermelon, divided Directions: In a microwave-safe bowl, sprinkle gelatin over water; let stand 1 minute. Microwave on high for 40 seconds. Stir and let stand until gelatin is completely dissolved, 1-2 minutes. Place lime juice, honey and gelatin mixture in a blender. Add 1 cup watermelon; cover and process until blended. Add remaining watermelon, 1 cup at a time, processing until smooth after each addition. Transfer to a shallow dish; freeze until almost firm. In a chilled bowl, beat with an electric mixer until mixture is bright pink. Divide among 4 serving dishes; freeze, covered, until firm. Remove from freezer 15-20 minutes before serving.
