Hope-Mongering parent/caregiver support sessions

This month:

Introducing GCC's new tool to connect families outside of camp

January 18 @ 7pm on Zoom

Come learn about our new "opt-in directory." It's a way to find the friends you've already made or those you haven't met yet!

"My 3rd grade daughter came home from camp last summer with a hundred stories of all her new friends. She said she wanted to get together with one of them and handed me a torn piece of paper with her friend's "phone number" on it. The writing was a child's scrawl and there were definitely numbers involved, but it wasn't quite a phone number."

Using our new tool, you can identify that friend your young camper made last summer--and contact their parents properly to set up a meetup. Or you can find a family in your area with a kiddo around the same age as your child to help them make friends before camp starts. Or you find parents who actually get what it means to be a parent of a child with T1D.

GCC's new directory is in beta form, and participants of this session will have the opportunity to be the first join and give feedback. We will be launching this tool with registration for our 2024 camps.

About Hope-Mongering:

Each month we recruit an array of key voices to host a series of conversations: parents, young adults who grew up with T1D, health coaches, educators, dietitians, T1D doctors and nurses, and of course the GCC summer camp crew. It's a magic formula for conversation on raising a young person with T1D. We'd love for you to join us and add your voice, or just sit back and listen. Feel free to bring topics or questions.
